PBR Spotlight Game: Team Ontario 18u vs Windsor Selects 18u

AURORA- Saturday was a cool, rainy day at Stewart Burnett Park that saw Team Ontario 18U face the Windsor Selects 18U. The Selects came out with a 5-2 victory.

Windsor got on the board in the 1st inning after a pair of two out hits and a hit batter, OF Louis Jodoin drew an RBI walk and a 1-0 lead. The Selects added another run in the 3rd with another RBI walk by Jodoin.

Team Ontario tied the game 2-2 in their half of the 3rd with an RBI double by infielder Alexander Luttor and an RBI single 1B/LHP Nickolon Dudhnath.

Catcher Mitch Hudvagner led off the Selects’ 5th with a single and eventually scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by 3B/RHP Matt Bondy. Hudvagner finished the day 3-for-3 with a double and 4 runs scored.

Selects’ right-hander Mitchell Clark got the start going two and two-thirds innings allowing two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking three. Right-hander Beau Hunter picked up the win in relief.

Team Ontario left-hander Matthew Fiorini started and went six innings allowing three runs on four hits, striking out seven, walking two and took the loss.

Game 2 was cancelled due to rain.

Mike Hickmott: Picked up save, 2 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit, striking out 4
