Power 25 Ranking Update

Ronald Sims
Mississippi Scouting Director

The High School Baseball regular season is nearing an end, as the playoff matchups are beginning to be laid out. Madison Central remains at No. 1 as the Jaguars are now 19-4 overall and 8-1 in district.

On the Rise

+ West Lauderdale - The Knights have been pretty consistent throughout the entire season but have seemed to take it to another level now that they are in  division play.  In the last eight divisional games, West Lauderdale has only allowed three runs outscoring their opponents 78-3.

+ West Jones - The Mustangs continue to play well finding themselves in the No. 5 spot. They have been included in the rankings for the last five weeks and continue to climb as they are now 9-0 in district play with two big divisional wins last week that allowed them to claim the Region 5-5A Championship.

+ Lewisburg – Moving up four spots are the Patriots, as they have logged seven consecutive wins versus in-state opponents taking them to 18-5 overall and 8-0 in district play.

+ Nanih Waiya – The Warriors have dominated most of their competitors this season as they are now 18-1 and 8-0 in division play. Nanih Waiya has found a way to post a lot of runs as they have outscored their opponents 234 to 34 on the season.
