Power 25 Ranking Update

The High School Baseball regular season is starting to wrap up as playoff seeding begins to take shape. In this weeks update, taking over the No. 1 spot is Madison Central. The Jaguars are now 16-4 overall and 7-1 in district after winning three district games this week.

On the Rise

+ West Lauderdale - The Knights move up one spot, coming in at No. 2 after going 2-0 in district play this week moving them to 18-2 overall.

+ Oxford - The Chargers take over the No. 4 spot after going 2-1 on the week, posting two big wins over Power 25 opponent Tupelo.

+ Hattiesburg - Coming in at No. 5 are the Tigers, who have not recorded a loss to an in state opponent since March 13th. Now 6-1 in district play, Hattiesburg will look to finish the regular season strong with two big district games versus North Pike.

+ West Jones - Only having lost one game this season, the Mustangs continue to rise in the rankings finding themselves in the No. 6 spot. They have been included in the rankings for the last four weeks and continue to climb as they are now 7-0 is district play with several impressive none conference wins.

+ Purvis - The Tornadoes are now 17-2 overall with a record of 7-1 in district play.

Bubble Teams

+ Both Oak Grove and New Hope fell out of the rankings after dropping a series early in the year but with a strong finish to the second half of the season, they could edge back into the ranking before post season play.

+ Harrison Central - Moves to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in district play after a strong week in which they claimed two wins over then No. 1 Gulfport.
