SoCal Player of the Week: SS Chris Murphy

Les Lukach
State Scouting Director

2019 SS Chris Murphy (Long Beach Poly HS) has been named this week's Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance at the plate for the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits.

Long Beach Poly had a incredibly busy week last week starting with a league game against Jordan before travelling to Arizona for a spring break tournament that saw them play four games in the desert. The trip did include some spring training baseball so it wasn't all work, but Murphy was all business last week.

Murphy, a highly sought after college recruit, showed schools from across the country that he has the ability to play at a very high level. In five games last week, Murphy was 14-for-20 with a home run, 4 doubles, 11 RBI, 7 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. And oh by the way, he didn't make a single error defensively. That's a seasons worth of production for some guys.

For his efforts, Murphy has been named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of March 19-25.

The Prep Baseball Report salutes Murphy's hard work and success.
