The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 16, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 28, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. Outlook

The 2018 season looks bright for Coach Jonathan Jones and the Kosciusko Whippets, as they return six starters and six pitchers from last seasons trip to north state finals. The Whippets have the experience and depth needed to make a another deep run and are anchored by a number of two-way players including Chase Morgan, Micah Parker and El Darius Roby. Strong defensive play is always part of the fabric in Kosciusko and will play a big part of the success of the 2019 team.
