PBR OK strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

This fall and winter, PBR OK will be highlighting some of the top ranked and uncommitted players in the 2018 Class as they prepare to enter their senior seasons. Today, we look at a right-hander with a durable frame and arm strength, Jacob Chairess.

Scouting Report

6/6/17

A 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, slightly front foot heavy set-up with rhythm throughout. Uses a smooth, knee-knock load with a hand pump for timing, flat path to contact with some length and a high finish. In BP, shows a mostly middle of the field and flat approach, some barrels, 81 mph exit velo. Defensively, shows deliberate feet, clean and consistent hands, throws from a 3/4 slot with strength and some accuracy, 80 mph. In the game, went 0-for-2. On the mound, works from a smooth, average tempo delivery, controlled down the mound. Uses a moderate, clean arm circle, high-3/4 slot with some arm speed out front. Fastball keeps its plane 80-83 mph, has been up to 85 previously. Curveball shows some depth with 11/5 shape, 69-70 mph. Changeup sat 75-76 with fade, 75-76 mph. In the game, tossed a quick inning, threw strikes with all three pitches.
