Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP/OF, Adam Cornwell, Bloomington North HS

Today’s Player Spotlight is an unsigned senior, Adam Cornwell out of Bloomington North High School.  Cornwell is 5-foot-10, 160 pound senior that plays both the outfield and pitches.  From the outfield he shows good range and a strong arm with carry at 82-86 mph.  On the mound he has good rhythm and timing with his delivery.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and his fastball is consistently 82-84 mph, getting up to 87 mph at times.  Cornwell shows a 10/6 breaking ball with an early break at 67-70 mph, along with a 72-73 mph changeup.  He shows the ability to throw all three pitches for a strike. 

At the plate he possesses a downward swing plane with a good load.  When getting to extension he has the ability to drive the ball with some pop.  At a PBR showcase last fall, Cornwell ran a 7.12 sixty in the rain.
