VA/DC SCOREBOARD: JUNE 8

 

Class 1

Honaker 3, Patrick Henry (Glade Spring) 2
Blake Stinson threw a four-hit complete game in the win and Chris Marshall was 2-3 with all 3 RBIs for the Tigers.

Riverheads 7, Northumberland 1
Casey Butler threw 5 scoreless innings as Grant Painter (James Madison), Forrest Shuey, and Bradley Roberts each had a hit and an RBI for the Gladiators.

Class 2

Page County 5, Goochland 0
Tristan Eppard threw a 3-hit shutout to send the Panthers to the championship game while also going 2-3 with an RBI and a 2B. Freshman TR Williams was 2-2 with a 2B and an RBI and is lined up to pitch tomorrow for Page. 

Virginia 5, Chatham 1

 

Class 3

No. 11 Abingdon 8, Fluvanna County 2
Tanner Barrs (Radford) allowed two hits in a complete game while going 3-4 at the plate. Kevin Christy (East Tennessee State) was also 3-4 and Colin Matley had 2 RBIs. 

Spotsylvania 8, Brentsville District 6
The Knights tied a back and forth in the top of the sixth and won it with three runs in the eighth inning. Eugene Snyder was 2-4 with 3 RBIs and Trevor Crosson was 2-5 with an RBI for Spotsy. Garrett Cornell (King) was 2-3 with 3 RBIs.

 

Class 4

Salem (Roanoke) 8, Fauquier 3
A seven run sixth inning propelled the Spartans as they overcame a 3-1 deficit to defeat Fauquier 8-3 

Jamestown 10, No. 13 Grafton 8
EA Woolwine's four RBI day put Jamestown up 9-1 early and the Eagles held off a furious Grafton comeback as they get the 10-8 victory.

Class 5

Potomac 7, No. 15 Freedom (South Riding) 0
Blake Gatewood (Prince George CC) threw a 4-hit shutout to send the Panthers to the Championship game. TJ Reney was 3-3 with a 2B and 2 RBIs. 

No. 20 Prince George 7, Deep Run 3
Hunter Carden (Randolph-Macon) threw 4.1 strong innings and five different Royals had RBIs in the win. Brooks Mazey was 2-4 with an RBI for Deep Run.
