Outlook

We bring you our No. 1 team in the commonwealth and DC area, and its pretty much was, rinse, repeat for the Cadets of Benedictine. This talented roster features some of the top talent in the state and currently boasts the No. player in our 2019 rankings as well as the No. 1 player in our 2021 rankings.

Though an early season injury will sideline him for the first quarter of the season, the Cadets will be paced on offense by Jamari Baylor. This talented middle infielder is the current No. 1 ranked player in the PBR VA/DC 2019 class and adds a special dynamic to his game with his athleticism and quick twitch at the plate and smooth explosion in his bat. Also back on offense is the powerful Jack Hall who will once again man the middle of the Cadet lineup this spring, with his powerful bat. Jack Carpin has been a pillar of stability for the Cadets in his career, and the four-year starter will once again be a key piece to the offense this season. The aforementioned Cook looks to add an instant impact back to the Cadet this spring and look for a solid season from the Tulane commit. Jay Woolfolk is in his sophomore campaign now after a very impressive freshmen year and expect this future star to continue to grow in year two. Casey Green will add another stick and contribute on offense as well.

Pitching looks to be a big strength yet again as Benedictine boast two front line starters and a deep bullpen to boot. Casey Green will again assume the ace role this spring as the senior has developed himself into a top prospect in the past two years, and looks to be a highly watched prospect this spring by scouts as well. Woolfolk will man the No. 2 spot adding a high end arm as the No. 2 in the rotation. Alex Markus and Brock Carter will add depth to the staff along with Bennett Lloyd this spring. Jack Anderson (Army) is another nice arm who could help once back from injury.

A team loaded with talent should be poised again to challenge for the VISAA title again this spring. Benedictine finish up our Preseason Power25 as our No.1 Team.
