This spring we take a different approach to the unveiling of our Preseason Power25 teams across the commonwealth/DC. Instead of one full release, we will be doing a countdown starting today and running all the way to the beginning of the high school season. Over the course of the next 2.5 weeks, we will be counting down our preseason top 25.

X-Factor

Evan McClaskey C - The 2019 version of Cosby has a deep pool of talent on the team this spring, but the one big loss was 2018 C Ethan Williams. McClaskey comes in to fill that loss and althought he won't be asked to repeat the impressive numbers that Williams put up, his ability to handle the pitching staff and add some offense to the lineup will play a nice part to the season.

Key Players Lost

Austin Kruger
Ethan Williams

Outlook

2019 has all the makings of a special season for Cosby this spring, with the majority of their team returning and now a year older. That pool of talent and depth could lead to contention for a Class 6 title this spring.

The Titans return a wealth of experience on the offensive end which makes for a tough lineup from top to bottom. Leading the way are seniors Cade Swisher, Zach Hoekstra, and Ethan Iannuzzi. All there were key cogs at the top of the order last season and that won't be any different this upcoming spring. All three are impressive offensive options for the Titans, while Swisher and Hoekstra form quite possibly one of the top double play combos in the state. Also back on offense for the Titans are infielders Mason Maurer, Darren Stanford (VA Wesleyan) and Jordan Dickson, who should be nice pieces to that deep lineup.  Keep an eye out for Bobby Ayscue and Evan McClaskey, who should see bigger roles this spring and will add key depth to their lineup.

On the mound, the Titans have a load of depth and talent that should give them the opportunity to win games every time out. Heading up the rotation will be three seniors Devin Miles, Andrew Weight, and Russel Bowles. Junior Alex LaRou should also play a big role in the staff this season and give them added depth on the bump.

All-in-all, 2019 has the potential to be a special season for the Titans, as they should compete for a Class 6 title and that is why we have them at No. 7 in our Preseason Power 25.
