Prep Baseball Report

Welcome to the Launch of PBR New York

New York We Got it Covered

With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report New York. Our mission in New York mirrors that of other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately, help New York prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in New York.

Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 10 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly cover New York:

Dan Cevette.

Cevette has a wealth of high-level baseball experience and knowledge, most of which is firmly rooted in New York. After earning Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year in 2002, Cevette was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Indians and signed out of high school. The hard-throwing 6-foot-4 left-hander was fast-tracked in the Indians organization, making it up to Triple-A at the age of 21. A torn labrum sidetracked his progress, and Cevette played seven years of minor-league baseball with the Indians and Royals organizations.

When Cevette retired in 2009, he became the recruiting coordinator at Niagara University. In 2010, Cevette was named the head coach at Corning Community College for two years. After a brief stint out of baseball, Cevette decided to give pro ball one more whirl. At an open tryout, Cevette hit 97 mph and was immediately signed by the Pirates. But while playing in the Puerto Rico winter league, his arm injuries resurfaced.

Now Cevette will bring his grit, determination and baseball experiences to New York’s prep baseball scene. Cevette will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information New York has ever seen and provide coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

New York summer events are already set up at top-flight venues across the state. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure from college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players’ profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.

Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 10 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into the authoritative voice of high school baseball in Illinois. More than 450 colleges and pro scouts now subscribe to the Prep Baseball Report multimedia services. In 2008, we took the same promotional model to Indiana, and have since expanded into Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Kansas.

Now, we are thrilled to be your No. 1 source of high school baseball in New York.
