Four more prospects pick their schools



Chad Johnson, a left-handed hitting catcher from Galesburg HS, has committed to Illinois State University. The 6-foot, 180-pound Johnson, ranked No. 32 in the Class of 2012, is one of the top catchers in the state. A top-level receiver, Johnson batted .398 with 5 homers and 38 RBI as a junior.

Ryan Olson, a LHP from Newman Catholic HS, has committed to Northern Illinois University. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Olson impressed at the Prep Baseball Report Top Prospect Showcase in June with his easy 82-85 mph fastball.

Dereck Page, a physical and athletic OF from Edwardsville HS, has committed to Eastern Illinois University. The 6-foot, 208-pound Page was a standout at the PBR Prospect Identification Showcase in Edwardsville, showing good power potential, speed and a solid arm.

Joseph Gregory, a catcher from Antioch HS, has committed to Heartland CC. The 6-foot, 205-pound Gregory was one of the top overall performers at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase in June, as he fired 1.9-2.05 pop times. Offensively, Gregory batted .398 with 13 doubles and 5 homers as a junior.
