Nick Altobella, a 5-foot-10 LHP from St. Laurence HS, has committed to the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Altobella became the Vikings? ace this spring, going 7-1 with a 1.63 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched.

Mark Self, a 6-foot-2, 198-pound OF/1B/C from Jacobs HS, has committed to John A. Logan JC. Self is one of the best left-handed bats in the state, as he showed at the Prep Baseball Report Preseason All-State Showcase in February. Self joins Lake Park RHP/C/1B John Schram as part of John A. Logan?s 2012 recruiting class.

Bobby Kutzendorf, a LHP/OF from Aurora Christian HS, has committed to Northern Illinois. Kutzendorf enjoyed a breakout junior campaign this spring. Kutzendorf joins Newman Catholic LHP Ryan Olson and Rock Falls MIF Brett Chappell as part of Northern Illinois? 2012 recruiting class.

John Menken, an athletic Class of 2011 OF/C from South Elgin HS, has committed to Southern Illinois University.
