12/15/17- Big, strong frame standing at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. At the plate he shows big power potential with strength in his swing and an uphill path through the zone. During batting practice he squared up numerous pitches with hard, solid contact. Ball jumps off the bat and showed pull-side pop. At times his timing can be off, but when he is in rhythm he can really drive the baseball. Showed solid defensive actions around first with his throws across the diamond topping out at 76 mph. Interesting on the mound as well from the left side where he featured a heavy fastball that sat 81-83 mph while mixing in a 62-63 mph curveball with some shape and a 71-72 mph changeup.
01/21/17- The 6-foot-3, 210-pound left handed hitting first baseman has a big strong frame that will continue to lean out. Offensively, he shows an uphill path through the zone that stays in the zone a long time.He is short to the ball and generates present power with more to come with an exit velocity of 88 mph. He showed the swing translated to the game, staying on two different tough left handed arms with two hard hit line drives. The swing works and has a chance to develop into plus power in the future as his body continues to develop. Defensively, he shows athletic footwork and really shows a feel for working around the bag at first base. Overall, he is athletic and will continue to improve as he becomes stronger and leans out which has him project with potential plus power.
12/15/16- Stands at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds on a large frame with some raw strength. During batting practice he showed balance in the box as he squared the ball up and made hard contact from the left side of the plate. Made several picks on the ball while playing first base. On the mound he had an impending presence with a quick arm. He threw a heavy fastball that sat 78-79 mph along with a changeup at 66-68 mph and a curveball that had some depth and looping action at 59-61 mph. Young, physical kid that will continue to improve as he develops.
