The PBR Florida internship provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to learn and gain valuable experience within the baseball community. Areas such as scouting, marketing, event logistics and video analysis are all covered in PBR internships. Candidates will be immersed in Florida’s baseball landscape, providing invaluable networking opportunities in your desired field.  

Baseball Scouting/Operations Intern 

We are seeking qualified students, preferably studying sport management who have strong writing and compositional skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and a firm understanding of the game of baseball.

Dates: Spring 2021 Semester/Summer 2021 Semester

Pay: This is an unpaid internship. Expenses like mileage and meals will be reimbursed. Students can use this internship to receive college credit.

Location:  All over Florida. Ability to not only work from home, but on the road as well at various events.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to data entry, web research, article editing, etc.
  • Assist with the coverage of games and events with the scouting director or area scout.
  • Assist with all parts of event day operations which includes check-in of players, setup and break down of event, charting stats, etc.
  • Assist in analytics evaluations, setup and post event reports. 
  • Assist in tournament operations. 

Video/Social Media Intern 

We are seeking qualified students, preferably studying marketing or communications with a strong understanding of the game of baseball along with a firm understanding of how to utilize social media outlets. This position will also call for you to be responsible to video players not only for our own events, but during coverage of other events as well.

Dates: Spring 2021 Semester/Summer 2021 Semester

Pay: This is an unpaid internship. Expenses like mileage and meals will be reimbursed. Students can use this internship to receive college credit.

Location: This position will include traveling to PBR events and other events covered that will require video or social media assistance. Some work will be done from home.

Primary responsibilities: 

  • Work hand-in-hand with state directors to develop and implement social media marketing plan
  • Utilize social media platforms for daily social media promotion and activity
  • Boost presence on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook 
  • Assist with all parts of the filming process which includes videoing players during events, labeling videos post event, etc.

Baseball Journalist Assistant

We are seeking qualified journalism students. It is required that the candidates have strong writing and compositional skills, and ability to meet deadlines and a strong understanding of the game of baseball.

Pay: TBD based on availability and workload

Location:  Flexible and able to work from home

Primary responsibilities:

• Write feature stories to be posted on the site's web-site 

• Provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to data entry and web research.

• Potentially cover games and events, composing scouting recap stories
