Fall Underclass Trials
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-foot-7, 205-pounds. Extra large frame, projectable, broad shoulders, plenty of room for more strength.
Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, high front-side, works on-line, lands square, finishes square to home and upright.
Arm Action: RH. Arm works quick and short on the back-side, does a good job of keep arm on time with lower half, 3/4 slot, repeats well.
FB: T86, 80-85 mph. Works mostly straight, flashed armside run.
CB: 69-71 mph. 11/5 shape, has depth and some late bite to it, potential swing and miss pitch.
CH: 72-74 mph. Fade and sink action.
Fall Underclass Trials
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-foot-7, 205-pounds. Extra large frame, projectable, broad shoulders, plenty of room for more strength.
Hit: RHH. Wide, open setup, hands start high and load back with a barrel wrap, short leg lift stride, good balance through finish. Gap-to-gap type hitter with pull-side power, quick hands, barrel works mostly level through the zone, when he gets extension the ball jumps off the bat with force.
Power: 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. Present power with the potential for much more.
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph. Arm works short to a high 3/4 slot, accurate across the diamond and turning double plays.
Defense: Moves well around first base, uses his large frame to keep the ball in front, clean footwork and exchanges.
Run: 7.92 runner in the 60.
6-foot-6, 200-pound right-handed right-handed hitting first baseman, extra large frame, still has a long ways to go as far as adding strength to his frame, has a great foundation to work with though. Offensively, open setup with a slight bend in his knees, hands load deep with some barrel warp, short stride to a balanced position. Barrel works uphill, utilizes his strength to try to elevate and drive the ball. One to watch as he continues to physically develop his body, big power potential at the plate.
6-foot-5 200-pounds. Intimidating figure when he steps on the mound. Long, lanky frame really gets down the mound. Over the top arm action, with a simple delivery. Still growing into his body. FB was 81-82, commanding the zone. CB was 68-69 with good spin, stayed on top of it consistently. Showed maturity for a freshman, there is definitely more in the tank for the 6-5 freshman.
XL framed RHP with a classic tall & fall delivery. He creates excellent angle to his true fastball, and is around the zone enough to project to at least solid command down the line. Most exciting was his ability to create shape with a true curveball, while most kids at this age up out of the hand with curveballs, he is already showing advanced feel for finishing the pitch.
