07.25.17 - Martin showcased explosive tools at the South Texas Underclass Game, and committed to Rice recently. He has a strong frame at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds with a strong lower half. Showed plus arm strength in the outfield at 93 mph and registered an exit velocity of 95 mph off the tee. During batting practice he showed plus bat speed and big power potential as he squared up balls consistently, including hitting two home runs, one to left-centerfield and another to left field (at Texas A&M). Carried that over into the game by hitting a missile to centerfield that was caught. On the mound, the right-hander has an aggressive delivery with a quick arm stroke from a high-¾ slot. His fastball was around the zone, ranging from 86-90 mph with some effort, sitting mostly 88 mph. He throws a power curveball with late action, and excellent depth at 71-74 mph. Good feel for a changeup that he throws with fastball arm speed at 76-78 mph.

06.06.17 - At 5-foot-11, 190-pounds, Martin has an already strong frame with more to come. Martin showed premium arm strength, throwing 94-95 mph from the outfield, and 88 mph on the infield. The right-handed hitter showed rhythm, timing, strength at contact, good bat speed and extension through contact during batting practice. On the mound, the right-handed hitter threw a heavy fastball with arm side run at 84-86 mph, with a 10-4 shape breaking ball at 69-71 mph and feel for a changeup at 76 mph. Martin not only has high end measurables, but he also competes and plays the game hard. During the game he went 2-for-2 with a double the one-hopped the left-centerfield wall and a sharp single.

04.21.17 - 5-foot-11, 190-pound, strong, physical frame. The right-handed hitter has middle of the order power, quick lower half torque with good separation, strong hands and bat speed with pull-pop. Aggressive style hitter who attacks the baseball. 6.0-second hang time on fly ball. High Level Hitting prospect. Corner outfielder with average arm strength, can play 3B. Martin is currently ranked No. 62 in Texas 2019 Class.
