Compact 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame. The UVA commit is a twitchy middle infielder with an advanced run tool. Defensively Sawyer has really good hands, a great first step, and takes solid angles of approach on groundballs. At the plate it is a contact bat that shows patience and above average zone discipline. Square athletic stance, shorter level path to contact, and balance throughout the swing. Long term Sawyer profiles as a second baseman, but could potentially stay at short with added arm strength.

Athletic compact frame with room to grow. Advanced speed and first step for age. Athletic set up at the plate with short simple load. Hands are free at the plate with bat speed and gap to gap ability. Speed pressures the game instantly. Excellent range from the shortstop position with lateral quickness. Throws show carry and more in the tank as he continues to add to his frame. Exciting prospect in the Commonwealth from the 24 class.

Athletic frame with quick twitch ability. Present high end runner with lateral range up the middle of the field. Soft hands and accurate arm across with above average arm strength for his age. Contact driven bat right now, but expected with his frame and size. Gap to gap approach in the few at bats I took in and has the ability to swipe bags at will. Is an elite athlete that has the making of a high end prospect.
