RHP Nate Langbehn (DC Everest, 2024; Wichita State commit) was another member of Team Wisconsin at the PBR Future games this summer - Langbehn is one of the best arms in the class (No. 5) and he showed why this past weekend. He has an athletic and downhill delivery, with a quick and powerful arm. His fastball sat 89-91 mph and topped out at 91.7 mph (the event high), and he drove the ball through spots with a downhill plane. He mixed in two quality offspeed pitches with his curveball and changeup. His curveball had an out-pitch feel with a sharp 11/5 break. To round out his three-pitch mix, his changeup was thrown with fastball intent and showed fade and depth actions.

Langbehn was a major winner from the winter showcase circuit where he put together one of the most polished ‘pens, regardless of age. On Thursday, he continued to impress as he earned a the win in dominant fashion. Across his five innings of work, Langbehn struckout 12 batters and used that fastball that sat 83-85 mph with carry/ rise traits. Despite relying heavily on the fastball, Langbehn did show feel for a 11/5 type BB with depth and a true CH in warmups. Langbehn will be coming down to Georgia to represent Team Wisconsin at the PBR Future Games later this month.

6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher, long, lean frame, plenty of room to fill out, projectable. Short, compact arm action, over-the-top slot, gets out front consistently, repeatable. Feel for three pitches. Fastball sat 83-85, armside run, more in the tank. Curveball, 12/6 shpe, throws two versions, one for strikes and another he buries with more bite for swing and misses. Changeup, 76-78. Controls the zone.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-3, 190-pounds. Long, lean, projectible frame, athletic moves.
Delivery: Athletic delivery staying relatively tall down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Long loop action, aggressive thumb down in the hole, arm speed with power upside.
FB: T88.6, 85.8-88.0 mph. Jumps out of the hand with life to the arm-side. T2187, 2081 average rpm.
CB: 68.2-70.9 mph. Tight spin, 11/5 shape, thrown for strikes. T2094, 2028 average rpm.
CH: 77.9-79.3 mph. Hard running action. Thrown for strikes. T1719, 1662 average rpm.
Langbehn proved to be one of the biggest winners from Sunday’s event. Langbehn is built at a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with long levers, and most players with his levers and at his age struggle to repeat often enough to fill the strike zone at a high rate, and yet it’s what Langbehn does best. He ran his fastball up to 88.6 mph, up roughly 6 mph since our most recent look at him during the PBR Badger State Battle last July.
