WIAA Diamond Notes: Week 1 & 2

By. Josh Fields
Area Scout, Data Coordinator

Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 1 Player of the Week honor to SS/RHP Cal Moreau (Monona Grove, 2026) and the Pitcher of the Week honor to RHP/UTL Cutler Schmidt (West Bend East, 2024). Moreau batted to a .727 average and a slugging percentage of 1.500 across 11 at-bats. Schmidt went the distance in a run-rule victory, striking out 10 batters in his six innings of work. He allowed just one hit and failed to allow a free base, on just 74 pitches.
