As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles finished the 2013 campaign with a 14-8 overall record, and posted a 7-5 mark in conference play.  Head Coach David Bradshaw's team returns 5 starters from last year, including three pitchers.  LHP Alex Schoettmer will lead things on the mound for the Eagles.  The 6-foot lefty, ranked No. 144 in Indiana's class of 2014 rankings, finished last season with a 5-4 record and an impressive 1.63 ERA.  Schoettmer struck out 95 hitters and finished with a 1.01 WHIP.  Senior OF/RHP Dominique Norman will be a large contributor offensively and on the mound.  Norman finished last spring hitting .478 with 21 RBI.  On the mound the righty went 3-2 and struck out 55 in 38.1 IP.  Sophomore Tyler Huff had an impressive season last year as a freshman, hitting .308 with 5 2B's.  Juniors Ethan Adams and Allen Hooten should also be big contributors this spring.  The Eagles should contend with South Ripley and Rising Sun for a conference championship in 2014.
