With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Midland Chemics

Team Name: Midland Chemics
Head Coach: Eric Albright, 320-133
Division: I
2015 Record: 23-15
Conference Record: Saginaw Valley League, 8-6
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/4

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Defense
  • Team offense

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Unproven pitching depth
  • True offensive threat

Coach Outlook: "We return the core of our team from 2015. Our seniors have the experience and leadership to have a great season."

Cheyne MaierTop Returning Players:

  • Cam Wing, SS R/R, 2016, 2 year starter, lead off hitter .359 BA, 32 R
  • Mason Dominowski, INF, R/R,  2016 2 year starter, .455 OBP plus base runner
  • Luke Delong, CF, R/R, 2016, 6'1"" 2 year starter, plus speed, committed to play football at GVSU
  • Cheyne Maier (pictured right), C, R/R 2016, 3 year starter, excellent defensive catcher
  • Greg Landis, 1B, R/R 2017, 2 year starter, 6'2" 185lb .438 OBP
  • Jordan Patty, P, 6'1" 3 year varsity player, slight set back as a sophomore after suffering broken ankle in March. CMU recruit.

Top Underclassmen:

  • Martin Money, 3B, 5'10" 170lb R/R strong. Varsity starter as 9th grader
  • Garrett Willis, P/OF, 6'3" 165lb. Good arm action, runs well, varsity basketball player
