Over the weeks leading up to the start of the high school season we will be releasing team previews for teams across the state.

Team Name: South Charleston Black Eagles
Head Coach: Kenn Samms (80-50 career record)
Classification: AAA
2016 Record: 23-8
Conference Record: Mountain State Athletic Conference (8-2)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 3/0

2017 Team Strengths:

  • Will rely on returning starters to lead young lineup
  • Previous teams have set an example that 2017 team can follow

2017 Team Weaknesses:

  • Pitching depth
  • Lost 2/3 of starting lineup

Coach Outlook: "We will have some inexperience in our starting lineup but could come together in time for the playoffs. We will have to lean on the experience of our returning starters."

PBR Outlook: After a solid 23-8 season, coach Samms and the Black Eagles look to a new crop of players after graduating four players that have moved on to a college baseball diamond.
