2018 Player Spotlight: OF Nicholas Schnell

With the 2018-2019 Prospect Showcase coming up on September 20th at Grand Park in Westfield, IN, throughout the next several weeks we are going to highlight some of the top 2018-2019 prospects we have seen thus far.

Player Name: Nicholas Schnell
High School: Roncalli
Primary Position: OF
Grad Year: 2018

Notes: Schnell is a projectable 6-foot-1, 155 pounder that ran a 6.97-60 at the Underclass Games this summer. He possesses a strong accurate arm from the OF at 89 mph with carry. His defensive actions are athletic displaying quick, fluid feet. Offensively, the LHH hits from a tall, open setup. He loads back, and uses a leg kick showing good use of the lower half. Schnell has above average bat speed with an advanced approach at the plate. His swing path is level and gets to extension showing gap to gap power. He recorded a high exit velocity of 83 mph off the tee.
