The Texas high school season kicks off on February 21, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 25, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25. 

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

BROWNSVILLE – Coach Wicks will be looking to rebuild from his team that advanced to the Area Finals in 2018, but he has solid expectations for his 2019 squad as they have a good foundation on the mound and in the field.

 

Wicks will look to senior catcher Marco Sanchez to help lead the team. Sanchez was 2^nd team All-District in 2018 after hitting .422. Other names to watch will be: junior LHP Marco Martinez, who was Honorable Mention All-District after a tallying a 1.73 ERA in 32 IP. Sophomore OF Ryan Trinidad, and freshman OF Anthony Ambriz.
