The Class of 2019 State Rankings have been updated and expanded, and to be expected pitching dominates the top 10 list (8/10).  

Atop the latest edition of Indiana's class of 2019 rankings is Vanderbilt commit Michael Doolin (RHP/SS, Andrean HS).  At 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, the right-hander was one of the hottest names on the recruiting circuit throughout the summer with a heavy fastball sitting in the upper 80s, touching 90-91 on occasion. He has an athletic pitcher's frame and a clean, athletic arm swing with the ball jumping out of his hand from a high-3/4 slot. He shows the ability to control a mid-70s breaking ball with tight spin and has feel for his changeup.

Right behind Doolin are two more right-handers in Cam Dennie (Plymouth HS) and Joe Wilkinson (Providence HS).  Dennie, an Arizona State commit,  has a wiry-thin 6-foot-3, 170 pound frame with long limbs and plenty of room for continued physical development.  This summer he regularly ran his fastball into the upper 80's, touching 90-91.  Along with the fastball he has a hard-biting 78-81 mph slider, a legitimate wipeout pitch. Wilkinson, who did not pitch this year due to recovering from Tommy John, has a projectable, athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds.  As a freshman, the Louisville commit ran his fastball up to 88 mph.  

Rounding out the Top Five are a pair of Indiana commits.  LHP Avery Short (Southport HS) continues to progress on the mound with a fastball sitting in the mid-to-upper 80s and solid secondary offerings.  RHP Reese Sharp (Noblesville HS) is another mid-to-upper 80's arm with a sharp slider at 74-79.  

The only position payers inside the Top 10 are No. 6 Mason McLeod (Greensburg HS) and No. 7 Jamir Simpson (Evansville Central HS).  McLeod, a Notre Dame commit, has a projectable left-handed bat with big power potential down the road.  Simpson, uncommitted, is a raw, athletic, toolsy prospect with tons of projection.  At the Future Games he ran a 6.80-60, was 90 mph from the OF and has been up to 88 on the mound.  

Three more right-handers round out the Top 10 in Shane Harris (North Posey HS), Parker Maddox (Columbus North HS) and Wyatt Geesaman (Jay County HS). Harris, a Louisville commit, is a wiry 6-foot-2, 165 pounder with a quick arm that was 85-87, T-89 at the Top Prospect Games in June.  His breaking ball is a plus out pitch with late depth.  Maddox, an Indiana commit, is an athletic 6-feet, 185 pounder with a fastball up to 88 mph.  Geesaman, uncommitted, has a projectable frame at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds.  At this year's Future Games he ran his fastball up to 88 mph.
