Scouting Report

4-15-18

Committed to Indiana State. Currently ranked No. 8 in Colorado's 2019 rankings. 6-foot, 185 pounds.  Bats and throws right.  Magill is an excellent receiver who shows an outstanding ability to control the game and to block very well. With no opportunity to throw today, he still exhibits a sub 2.0 pop time with solid mechanics and accuracy and is developing the ability to throw to all bases from his knees with a great deal of effectiveness.  His hands are soft and his receiving is improving all of the time. Magill is hitting. .465 on the season with 2 homeruns.

2-25-18

6-foot-0, 185-pound right hand hitting catcher with a 1.80-1.85 pop-time. Simple slightly open set up at the plate.  Uses a big leg kick and stride to come square.  Hands whip through the zone creating an 88 mph exit velocity.  Hard contact during the live round with several balls hit hard into the gaps. Behind the plate he is polished with good actions.  He blocks and receives well and has a quick glove to hand transfer.  Arm is accurate to the bag and played at 78 mph.

1-29-17
6-foot, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Quick transfer and footwork combined with a strong throwing arm allowed him to produce 1.85-1.95 pop times. Arm velo was 76 mph. Was consistently on the bag, and looked the part behind the plate. Wide frame, and looks bigger than he measures. At the plate, got around balls but had bat speed. Short, compact swing with line drive power. Another player to watch progress. 91 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.84 home to first.
