FL Preseason All-State Spotlight: Ben Brown
January 24, 2019
The Florida Preseason All-State has quickly become the premier Preseason event in the state of Florida. Over the first two years there have been over 100 committed players in attendance and counting. This event is held for the top 2019s-2022s throughout the state to kick off the Prep Baseball Report's spring high school baseball coverage.
We will begin to spotlight each and every player in attendance. Today, we look at 3B/OF Ben Brown (North Port, 2021). The uncommitted prospect earned an invite to Preseason All-State after being a standout prospect at the Central Florida Trials on January 19th.

Scouting Report
1/19/19 - Listed at 5-foot-9, 145 pounds, but the frame looks longers and with more strength. Still has a lot of room to add strength and mature, but really stood out defensively. Works confidently and under control in the infield. Hands and fee work well and in rhythm Offensively, he has a small leg kick and works in rhythm as well. Tends to cut himself off at times, but there is bat speed and feel for the barrel and as he learns to get through the baseball and continues to mature there is a high offensive ceiling.
