Jackson Prep Defeats Hartfield 2-0

The Jackson Prep Patriots defeated Hartfield Academy 2-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. It was a clean game played by both teams defensively with limited production at the plate.

The performances on the mound where also strong for both sides as Jackson Prep struck out nine, while Hartfield Academy pitchers sat down five. 

Alex McGarrh got the start for Hartfield Academy and allowed four hits, two runs over five innings. McGarrh recorded three strikeouts while walking one and TJ Watts threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen striking out two of the three hitters he faced.

Spence Graves was able to produce the only runs of the game driving a two run homerun over the right-field wall in the third inning. Graves finished the day 2-for-2.

Riley Maddox earned the win for Jackson Prep as he allowed only two hits and zero runs over five innings of work. Running his fastball up to 85 mph, Maddox was able to produce five strikeouts while walking only one. Bryson Weeks and Jerrion Ealy entered the game in relief to close the game out for Jackson Prep.
