MACJC Showcase 2019: Top Fastballs and 60's

Mississippi Scouting Report

The MACJC sophomore showcase took place Friday, September 14th, at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. The event gave host to some of the top sophomore junior college prospects in the state, with numerous players in attendance who will make major impacts on their upcoming seasons as well as future seasons at the Division 1 level and beyond.

Today, we will take a look at several notable players that highlighted day one of the two day event. Look for more in-depth reports with video in the next few weeks

Pitchers

Jamarcus Lang, RHP, MS Gulf Coast CC
Uncommitted, the wiry frame 6-foot-2, 161-pound right-handed pitcher displayed a short, quick arm stroke with medium effort and tempo in delivery. Lang’s fastball jumps out of his hand riding through the zone at 89-93 mph, and threw a slider with lateral action at 79-81 mph.

Shemar Page, RHP, Pearl River CC
The uncommitted athletic 6-foot-2, 205-pound two-way prospect works from a high-¾ slot with a medium arm stroke. Quite and repeatable delivery with easy velocity and command of the zone with multiple pitches. Page sat 87-89, touching 90 mph with fastball. Breaking ball flashed depth and late action through the zone at 74 mph.
