Scouting Report
Tall, solid body type at 6'2'', 180 pounds. Pitched one inning of relief striking out one without allowing a base-runner. Only got one pitch below but full bullpen is on profile from our Preseason All-State event one month prior. Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick into a tall balance point. Kicks from leg out in delivery with some lower half drive. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with long arm action and easy effort. Lands square to the plate with a slight recoil finish. Fastball sat 83-84 mph and breaking ball was 65 mph.
MD Preseason All State
Projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Upright square stance with hands relaxed, toe tap to stride landing on line, and hands start-stop-start load. Average bat speed, path is slightly uphill, and finishes the swing with some balance. Exit velocity was 83 mph. Home-1st time was 4.56. Feet were active and under control on approach, clean slower exchange, and showed a shorter arm action. Clean arm with average arm speed and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 80 mph. Slower paced delivery staying under control. Balance point needs work as front leg starts to get away upon leg lift, sending him down the mound a little bit early. Shoulders and hips are fairly level and he shows a late leg drive getting down the mound and lands on line. Arm action is longer, but showed quick arm speed getting it through throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. The ball is electric out of the hand and arm is live. Fastball worked down in the zone and had carry. Fastball sat at 83-85 and topped at 86. Curveball was tight with 11/5 shape and late movement at 65-67. Changeup showed present arm speed and sat at 71-73 mph. Interesting arm to follow as he continues to grow.
