Scouting Report
VA/DC Scout Blog 4/2/18
Long limbed frame at 6-foot-5. Room for, and needs to add strength to his frame. Quick compact, no wasted movement delivery. It’s a short and quick step to lift and attack. Longer free arm action throwing from a lower angle. Regular effort and fast arm speed; Fastball topped out at 90 mph on the day and sat 86-89. Repeats delivery well, sometimes showed trouble with consistency in release point, but that is being picky. Also could get better lower half involvement, which you would think equates into more velo as well. Showed very good command on the mound, and room to be even better at the next level. Feel for both sides of the plate. Had a tendency to let balls rip up and arm side when he missed. Fastball has consistent two plane movement when working down. Breaking ball is tight with shorter 1/7 action up to 75 mph. Has potential to be a better pitch at the next level. Did not need a third pitch on the day and did not see one. Love the arm slot, body, and life on the pitches. Want to see him strengthen his frame more for durability down the road.
7.15.17: Agee is 6-5 with a projectable lanky frame, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a long loose arm action and easier effort. Shoulders are closed and a bit uphill, sweeps to a square landing. Fastball had late run and sat 82-85, touching 86. Hard late curveball was 69-73 with good armspeed. Showed feel of those two pitches, moved fastball in and out.
