The 2nd most viewed profile of the year is '21 SS Cam Clayton (Lakeridge)
One of the most athletic position players in the Pacific Northwest for the '21 class and a nationally ranked prospect, Clayton made some big overall strides in his game in the last year. The easy, effortless actions and feel for the game have always been apparent. Some added physicality and strength has elevated his skillset to the next level and helped land him a commitment to the Washington Huskies. The pure speed and twitch should allow him to stick in the middle of the diamond long-term. Offensively he shows crisp actions in the box and understands how to manipulate the barrel.
After a strong performance at the PNW ProCase, we're excited to see Clayton build on that appearance later this winter at the Super 60

Scouting Report
6-foot, 185-pound frame, his twitch stood out in all aspects. The 6.69 60-yard dash time was graceful on a misty morning with a slow track, and there is a good chance it trends even lower in the future. He followed that up with some loud rounds of batting practice with some raw power to the pull side (100 mph exit velocity). Gaining momentum with a bigger leg kick that pushes the hands deeper, down and back into a power position, Clayton demonstrated an ability to get on-plane early with impressive early connection and rotational acceleration. He has quick hands that drive the barrel strong through the zone on a flat path, and there was noticeable lag seen, especially in game. On the infield, the hands played more average on this day dealing with a tougher surface, but he exhibited an ability to make athletic plays with a quick release, and the upside was paramount. His smooth athleticism is sure to catch the attention of MLB scouts moving forward, and he is likely to be one of the more heavily scouted prospects in the state over the next year
After a huge summer, Clayton ascended into the national rankings for the first time and established himself as a premier talent in the PNW. The overall athleticism shows up in-game and his physical tools have steadily progressed over the last few years. Offensively he shows loose, easy hands with barrel control and adjustability in the box. Defensively he moves easily at SS with clean actions and is versatile enough to move around the diamond if needed.
Proportionally built with some present strength at 6-foot, 185 pounds. The actions of the game come very naturally to Clayton. He consistently shows the ability to be a sure-handed defender with the versatility to handle multiple INF positions. Offensively his clean, fluid swing has always produced consistent line-drive contact and he's started to show more power and bat speed as he gets older
