Loads of talent converged on to Frierson Field at Mississippi College this week for our 1st Annual PBR MS All State Games and Showcase. Players from the 2022 through 2025 classes were invited to participate in the 2 Day event which included a workout on Tuesday morning and 8 games that afternoon and all day Wednesday. 

The event featured some of the top players from across the state, with a large majority being uncommitted, which should have pleased the many college coaches on hand. 

Although the talent on display was very evident a few guys stood out including JB Middleton of Benton Academy. The uncommitted 2022 RHP used a fastball that reached 89 mph with a next level slider that showed some very tight, quick action (80 mph) that resulted in lots of swings and misses. 

Aiden Moffett, a 2022 LSU commit, was as advertised. The RHP from Taylorsville worked up to 91 with his fastball showing lots of life and the ability to work both sides of the plate. 

 

Spence Coffman (2022) of Tishomingo County once again showed off his tools. The uncommitted infielder ran a 6.75 and showed his ability to play both infield and outfield, along with lots of pop at the plate, which should make him a hot commodity moving forward. 

 

Colton Coates and Ryan Moore, both rising juniors from DeSoto Central, should provide plenty excitement on the infield. Both players run well (Coates 6.87, Moore 6.94), both have above average arms and next level gloves, and both have some punch at the plate (Moore 94 EV, Coates 92 EV). 

 

Ole Miss commit, Ethan Surowiec, posted some very impressive numbers for a 2024. The RHP/3B registered a 92 mph exit velocity with a gap to gap approach, while also looking very sharp on the mound using a 88 mph fastball and a slider (80 mph) that showed good quick action.

 

Ryan Carpenter (2024) of St. Andrews has serious upside. The RHP used a very polished delivery with arm action that works very free and easy. Carpenter worked up to 84 mph with his fastball but its easy to see much more is on the way. 

 

Drew Lambert (2024) of Madison Ridgeland Academy continues to impress each time we see him. The middle infielder has great hands, swings the bat with consistency and a well balanced approach, and should provide depth on the mound as well. 

 

Remember the name Kannon Cato. This 2024 from Lawrence County plays a loose as they come and is very instinctive in the outfield using his 6.89 speed very well. Has exceptional hands and is looking to punish at the plate. 

Its hard to look away when 2025 Konnor Griffin of Jackson Prep is involved on the playing field. The uber athlete can do it all and proved it this week playing multiple positions, locking it down on the mound with a fastball up to 87 mph, and showing off his impressive pop (94 EV) at the plate. 

 

Another player with big time power potential is Jacob Parker of Purvis. The 2025 was very impressive during his BP round with a event high 94.6 mph exit velocity.
