Big recruiting news comes out of Indiana this week as two of the state’s top 2020 prospects made verbal commitments. RHP Charez Butcher (Kokomo HS, IN) committed to Mississippi State while RHP Cole Gilley (Columbus East HS, IN) committed to Indiana. Both participated in the 2017 Future Games.

Butcher is electrifying with his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame and loose, athletic delivery that produces a fastball up to 93. Gilley has a physical frame at 6-foot-1, 203 pounds and runs his fastball up to 86.

In Texas, 2019 RHP Kadon Morton (Seguin HS, TX) committed to Oklahoma. The No. 10 prospect in the state, he has a clean, athletic delivery and sits 89-90 with his fastball.

2020S ON THE RISE

Next up in updated rankings is the Class of 2020. To tease the update, The Hotlist is looking at sophomores whose stock is on the rise. Expect to see a jump from these players when the new rankings are posted.

Carson Atwood, RHP/3B, Silo HS, OK
Atwood has a durable frame at 6 feet, 190 pounds and his stock is on the rise with his velocity. He pitches with an up-tempo delivery and has athleticism, rhythm and quality leg drive down the mound. His arm action is fluid and fast, coming through a high-3/4 slot. His fastball shows some downhill tilt at 87-89 mph, touching 90. His slider shows late 11/5 break with depth and tight spin. The changeup shows advanced fading action at 72-73. His arm strength translates to the infield and he also shows some pop at the plate.
