The Mississippi High School Baseball season entered the first round of playoff games with several teams facing elimination and other top teams picking up games to stay ready for second round play. This made for an interesting week with several big matchups taking place across the state, forcing some movement in this weeks update. 

+ Gulfport takes over the No. 1 spot after finishing the season 21-4 and receiving a first round bye in the playoffs and look to square off against Pascagoula in the second round.

+ West Lauderdale holds down the No. 2 spot as they finished the regular season 21-2, defeating their first round play off opponent 25-3 in two games.

+ Northwest Rankin moves up to the No. 3 spot as they have continued to play well in the second half of the season. The Cougars are now 24-4 after sweeping their first round playoff matchup and will play cross-town foe Clinton in the second round
