2019 Outlook: If the fall is any indication, the Senators will rely heavily on their youthful exuberance to compete in the 2019 Season.  After a disappointing 2018, Bryan Manoukian’s club returns just one starter from last year. Senior, Delsin Roberts is the incumbent shortstop and will be expected to anchor the defense.  Kahle Good is a “jack” of all trades for the Senators. He has played all four infield spots as well as stationed himself behind the dish a time or two. Good, a senior, provides Manoukian the luxury of playing the “hot hand” at one of the other positions because of his unique versatility.  Sophomore, Bryce Baker should handle a bulk of the duty behind the plate.  Baker is a projectable backstop with present arm strength that should keep opposing runner in check.

On the mound, the Senators will rely heavily on senior, Vernon Painter.  Painter, a pitchability left-hander, enjoyed some success in 2018 and might very well be their “go to” guy.  Manoukian stands to use his bullpen quite a bit.  Vying for mound time will be Max Fontaine (’20), Justin Stevens (’20), Garritt Benevides (’20) and Jade Stotts (’21).  Stotts is an intriguing prospect.  The lanky right-hander is projectable with the makings of an out pitch in his curveball and just might find himself in the rotation at some point.

It will be hard to replace the production of Abel Carter (.483/5/37), now at Washington State, but If there is one thing the Senators can take away from last season, it is their offense.  In spite of returning just one starter, several returners aided in the .335 team batting average in 2018, leading to an average over seven runs a game. Kahle Good (.389/0/28) will lead the offensive charge and players like Roberts and Painter, will have to use the experience they have gained in previous seasons to compliment the offense.  Youngsters, Bryce Baker, C, and Kobe Morgan, OF, might be able to provide just the spark they need to overcome some key losses. The Senators are trained to be an aggressive offensive club and rest assured, they will play hard with some urgency to overcome a disappointing 2018.
