The Border Battle kicks off Saturday featuring some of the best 2018 and 2019 uncommitted players in the state.  To see lineups and expected pitching rotation, please click HERE.

Get to know each of your Border Battle participants from Tennessee that will play Saturday below:

2018

1B/3B Javon Grier (Clarksville Northwest) – Attending his first PBR event, Grier is coming off of a huge spring, where he hit .455 w/ 3 HR’s and 27 RBI’s. 

OF Brady Moore (Scotts Hill) – Moore put on a show to finish off the Memphis Travelers fall season two weekends ago, hitting for the cycle over two games while showing above average running speed.

3B/1B Sean McLaughlin (Knights Academy) – McLaughlin has hit both times we have seen him this fall, including a no doubt HR at Columbia State and an eye-opening BP at the Knights Scout Day.

MIF Drew Hill (Chester County) – Hill ranks amongst the best middle infielders still on the market in Tennessee, showing bat speed w/ solid actions at SS.

C/RHP Nathanial Tate (Coffee County) – Tate is a true 2-way prospect, showing arm strength behind the plate w/ bat speed.  On the mound, the righty works 86-88 while flashing both a SL and a CB as above average.

RHP Jonathan Alexander (Scotts Hill) – Attending his first PBR event, Alexander has been up to 88 and held opponents to a .155 batting average against last spring.

RHP Gavin Pulliam (Franklin) – Pulliam pitched extremely well at the Fall Top Prospect Games, throwing 2 hit-less innings w/ 2 strikeouts.  Pitched 80-82 and showed an above average CH to record both his strikeouts.

2019

3B Zach Boze (Station Camp) – Currently the 2nd ranked 3Bmen in the 2019 class, Boze shows an athletic frame with an all-around corner infielder profile.

OF C.J. Campbell (Central Magnet) – Campbell is coming off a big spring where he hit .424 w/ 3 triples and 13 stolen bases, showcasing an all around skill set.

RHP Drew Edwards (Arlington) – Attending his first PBR event, Edwards shows 3 average or better pitches with command while topping out at 86.

RHP Graham Elkins (Knoxville Halls) – Elkins led the Halls staff last year, going 6-1 with 58 strikeouts in 46 innings while twirling two shutouts.

MIF Noah Gent (Grace Christian Academy) – Coming off of a stint with the Royals Scout Team, Gent has impressed every time he has been seen, featuring a middle infield defensive profile with offensive projection.

RHP Connor Haley (Northview Academy) – Attending his first PBR event, Haley is coming off of a spring where he struck out 72 in 50.1 innings while limiting hitters to a .163 batting average.

OF Braden Hickey (South Doyle) – Attending his first PBR event, Hickey is coming off of a strong sophomore season where he hit .344 w/ 24 RBI’s. 

MIF Ashton King (Farragut) – King had a strong showing at the Fall Top Prospect Games, showing true SS defensive ability with a line drive, gap to gap approach.

OF Brandon Langenberg (West) – Langenberg showed a very strong power/speed combination at the Fall Top Prospect Games, ranking with the top home to first time with the 4th best exit velocity.

C Ryan McCarthy (Farragut) – McCarthy showed his elite catch and throw skills at the Fall Top Prospect Games, showing above average arm strength with accuracy, as every pop time was sub 2.0.

OF Blaine McIntosh (Sycamore) – McIntosh’s speed jumped out at the Knights Scout Day, which was reflected in his spring at Sycamore, as he hit .362 w/ 17 stolen bases.

OF Dalton McLain (Greeneville) – McLain is the 19th ranked prospect in the state and is the highest ranked player in the class attending.  Premium runner with bat speed.

3B/C Parker Noland (Farragut) – Noland is a pure baseball player, excelling at every phase of the game.  This was evident this spring, as he hit .344 with 31 walks, 41 RBI’s and 12 doubles.

1B/LHP Kaleb Orr (Sevier County) – Attending his first PBR event, Orr is coming off a strong spring where he hit .308 w/ 27 RBI’s and projects to be one of the top arms for Sevier County next spring.

RHP Ben Peoples (Giles County) – Attending his first PBR event, Peoples is coming off a quick stint with the Royals Scout Team, where he pitched 86-90.

RHP Hayden Robbins (Mount Juliet) – Robbins had a very efficient two innings at the Fall Top Prospect Games, needing just 18 pitches to record 6 outs, pitching 81-84.

RHP Connor Smith (Brentwood) – Smith is coming off a strong spring for the Bruins, who went to their first state championship last spring.  He pitched to a 1.89 ERA over 31.2 innings.

C Logan Smith (Station Camp) – A do it all, athletic catcher, Smith shows above average running speed w/ feel for receiving.

C Harrison Travis (Soddy Daisy) – Travis is coming off a strong Fall Top Prospect Games where he showcased his right-handed power with arm strength behind the plate.

SS/RHP Solomon Washington (Centennial) – Washington opened a lot of eyes at the Knights Scout Day, showing bat-speed, middle infield actions and a fastball up to 90 on the mound.
