SoCal Diamond Notes 4/1-4/7/19

2019 3B Jason Flock - Cal High - Flock helped lead Cal to a perfect 4-0 record last week going 6-for-12 with a home run, a 2B, and 3 RBIs setting a couple school records in the latter two categories. He leads the CIF Southern Section with 31 RBIs (as of Sunday), and now holds the single season record for both RBIs and 2B with 13.

2019 C Cameron Beauzec - Mt. Miguel HS - The senior had a walk off 3-run HR with 2 outs to secure the win vs. El Capitan.

2019 1B/RHP  Justin Campbell -  Simi Valley HS - The Tulane signee went 5-for-10 with 2 BB, 3 R, 5 RBI, 2 2B, and 2 SB. On the mound he threw a CG shutout with only 2H, 2BB, and 9 Ks.

2019 1B/P Joe Oliveras - San Dimas HS - The Senior picked up a win against Gahr and a save against Beckman during the National Classic. He went 8 IP total, throwing CG on Wednesday with 4 Ks and only 2 R. At the plate Oliveras was 2-for-10  1 R and 2 RBI.

2020 P/C Ryan Kim - San Dimas HS - Kim won the HR derby and went 4-for-8 with 6 runs. He hit a 2 strike 2 out HR vs Beckman on Tuesday, and went 2-for-3 on Wednesday vs. Gahr with 3 RBI and a 2B. Kim was named to the All Tourney team for the National Classic.

2020 OF Isaiah Marquez - San Dimas HS - The St. Mary’s commit was named the Most Outstanding Offensive player during the National Classic. Marquez  has driven in 31 RBI this season and during the tourney went 6-for-15 with 3 H and 4 R. Marquez had a hit and an RBI in every game during the National Classic.

2021 SS William Gleed - San Juan Hills - In 3 Ryan Lemmon Invitational games he went 6-for-10 with 2 2Bs, 1 3B, and 5 RBIs.

2019 OF/P Ryan Tucker - West Ranch HS - In the National Classic on the mound last week, Tucker had a save vs Redondo Union in semi-final game and a win in the championship game vs. San Dimas.  At the plate he was 6-for-11.

2020 IF Jaden Pugh - El Dorado HS - Pugh went 6-for-10 and reached base in 10 of 13 plate appearances. He was also named to the all tournament team for the National Classic.

2020 OF/RHP Corbin Ellis - El Dorado HS - Ellis went 5-for-10 with 2 RBI, 2 SB, and 3 runs scored. Ellis was also named to the National Classic All Tournament Team.

2019 LF  Lawrence Nelson - Morse HS - Lawrence went 6-for-7 with a 2B and a 3B. He also drove in 3 runs with 7 runs scored and 7 SB in 2 games.

2019 LHP/OF Dylan Cook -  Ayala HS - The Utah Valley Commit went  6-for-10 with 2 2B, 1 3B, 1HR, and 5RBI. On the mound he was 1-0 with 7IP, 4K, and 0BB.

2019 LHP/1B Joe Naranjo - Ayala HS - The CSUF commit went 6-for-10 with 2 2B, 1HR, and 3RBI. On the mound he was 1-0 with 6IP, 4K, 5H, and 2ER.

2019 LHP/OF Julian Alvarez - Yucaipa HS - The CBU commit earned the Win on the mound Tuesday in an 11-2 game vs Redlands East Valley. At the plate he was 4-for-6 with 4 RBI and 2 SB’s on the week.

2020 IF/3B Jared Covarrubias - Bassett High School- Jared went 5-for-7 including a 2B and 4 singles. Jared led his team to a big win against Edgewood Tuesday afternoon.

Spencer Bengard - Valley View HS - Bengard went 5 innings last Monday vs Riverside Poly where he gave up 5 H, with 4 walks, 7 Ks, and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) in a loss. He went 5 IP vs.  Chaparral High School where he gave up 4 H, 1 walk, and had 5 Ks while allowing no runs.

2020 LHP Joseph Cetale - La Jolla Country Day School - Cetale pitched a CG shutout in La Jolla’s 1-0 win vs. Francis Parker last week.  At the plate he went 4-for-5 with 2 2B in the two game series.

Nicolas Allmond - La Jolla Country Day School - Allmond went 3-for-6 with a 2B and made 2 game saving diving catches, one in each game last week.  Nicolas is hitting .421 on the season. 

2019 1B Blake Morton - Edison HS - Morton went 4-for-8 with 3 RBI and 1 R. For the season he is 15-for-46 with a .326 avg, 3 2B, 1 HR, 9 RBI, and 8 R. 

2021 RHP/INF Caden Aoki - Edison HS - Aoki went 1-0 with 6 IP, 0 R, 2 H,  and 6 Ks. For the season he is 5-0 with a 0.79 ERA, 44 IP, 5 ER, 33 K, 31 H, and 8 BB.

2019 Chris Macedo - Lakeside HS - Macedo went  2-for-3 with 4RB, 2R, 3B, and 4SB including a steal of Home. On the mound he went 6IP with 4H, 2ER, 8K, with no walks.

2020 Preston Howey - Arcadia HS - Howey improved his record to 9-0 with a 7 inning CG victory over Glendale on Tuesday.  Howey allowed 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 13 batters.

2021 Brandon Nguyen - Arcadia HS - Nguyen hit 2 HR on Tuesday vs. Glendale.  For the week Nguyen finished 3-for-6 with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored.

2019 LHP/1B Cutter Clawson - Laguna Beach HS - On the mound Clawson went 6 IP with 2 H, 1 unearned run, and 8 K’s. 

2020 C Aidan Booth - Laguna Beach HS - Booth earned the Ryan Lemmon tourney MVP after going 5-for-12 with 3 R and 7 RBIs and playing stellar defense behind the plate.

2021 OF Matthew Polk - Gahr HS - A UCLA commit, Polk went 9-for-12 with 4 2Bs including a HR vs Redondo, 5 RBIs, 2 SB.

2019 RHP Bryan Perez - Glendora HS - In a 7 inning effort against Colony, Perez went 9-0 with 2 H, 7 K's, and 1 BB.

2019 RHP/INF Cameron Repetti - Cypress HS - A Cal State Fullerton signee, Repetti went  6-for-15 with a .400 ave, 1 2B, 1HR, and 5 RBIs. He also threw a No hitter on Tuesday vs Tustin  that included 11 K's.

2019 - 2B Ricardo Amavizca - Indio HS- The uncommitted senior went 4-for-7 with 1 HR, 3 RBIs, 3 Runs scored, and 4 SB.
