Team Michigan Future Games Spotlight: Nate Jones, OF/RHP
July 16, 2015
By Aaron Wilson
PBR Michigan Assistant Scouting Director
On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Michigan will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Michigan at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.
Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Nate Jones thoughts on being selected to play at the Future Games and represent the state of Michigan: "I truly feel blessed to have been chosen to play in the Futures Games this year. Being chosen and getting to play in this game is a very high honor, and also a high honor to represent the State of Michigan as an athlete. I am excited to play with the extremely talented and elite players of Michigan, and also get to play against other great baseball players from across the country."
How has PBR helped as far as recruiting and exposure: "PBR is an amazing organization! It is well ran and very useful. It allows many players to be noticed with getting their name out on the web to show interest that they want to play ball at the next level. PBR is very efficient and thorough with evaluating and posting player's skill levels and numbers for the convenience of college coaches. Not only do they evaluate and post, but they follow player's successes throughout their seasons and tweet about them. PBR seems to have a high interest in a player's future. They care about helping players to be seen by college coaches and are excited when players are able to play at the next level. PBR guides players and coaches for the process of recruitment.
Awards or academic accolades you have received: All-City, All-Conference, All-District, Student of the month in the Technology Department, Honor Roll. National Honor Society, Student Government. Team Captain for 2015-16 Cross Country Team.
GPA: 3.82
Fun Fact (Anything unique about yourself): Being left-handed, my parents bought me a left-handed glove. I would catch the ball, then take the glove off to throw the ball with my right hand. My parents were very confused with which one was my dominant hand. I'm left-handed but ambidextrous in many sports.
