Top Uncommitted 2020's- Infielders

Blake Davis
State Director

Georgia is consistently one of the deepest State in the country when it comes to next level talent and 2020 is not exception. Today we focus on the strong group of uncommitted infielders who remain uncommitted.

Dwight Banks SS / 2B / McEachern , GA / 2020

Long and projectable, Banks is one of the more interesting uncommitted prospects in the state. He might have as high a ceiling as any of the uncommitted prospects on this board, too. Banks is a rangy defender with a solid approach and a chance to grow into power.

Cole Smith SS / 2B / Heritage, GA / 2020

This medium-framed shortstop is still on the market. He has a high baseball IQ and good strength at the plate. Defensively, he has the range to stick, to go along with plenty of arm. Smith had a strong showing this summer at LakePoint for a robust DRB Elite ball club.

Josh Davis 2B / OF / Cartersville, GA / 2020

Davis is a strong, athletic, right-handed-hitting infielder/outfielder combo with a flat stroke that stays in the zone well. Davis will flash some pull-side power and has been a mainstay in the Cartersville High School lineup for a couple years. He's a versatile player with some offensive ability and all-around, usable strength.

Brendan York SS / 2B / Mill Creek, GA / 2020

It has been fun to watch York of the last couple springs as he anchors the middle of the diamond for Mill Creek.  York is a hard-nosed player who can defend. Offensively, he has sneaky pop for a smaller guy and can run. Another uncommitted middle-of-the-field player that is still looking for the right fit.

James Heramb-Eckert SS / RHP / Grovetown, GA / 2020

Yet another athletic middle-of-the-field prospect who can really pick it defensively. Heramb-Eckert plays the game with a hop and shows a good baseball clock and instincts. Offensively, he needs to add some strength and incorporate his lower half more, but the bat-to-ball skills are in place, just needs add that strength to his quality of contact.

Jarrett Burney SS / 2B / North Gwinnett, GA / 2020

An athletic shortstop that can run, with soft hands and plenty of arm.  Burney has a chance to stay at shortstop and excel at the next level. Offensively he shows solid bat-speed and strength when he stays over his legs. Interesting looking uncommitted SS Prospect with plenty of unteachables.

Preston Joye SS / 2B / Fellowship Christian, GA / 2020

Joye is about as solid as they come as an infielder.  He makes all the plays and has a heads up way about himself on the baseball field.  In the box Joye swings from both sides of the plate and has good feel for the zone and his bat head. One of the higher baseball IQ kids still available.

Kobe Braddock 2B / 3B / River Ridge, GA / 2020

Meduim framed secondbase prospect from River Ridge High School, where he plays both second and third.  Braddock is a an aggressive baseball player with good strength in the box.  He stays on balance, with good takes and his bat stays in the zone.  Defensively Braddock is steady with solid range.  He is a gritty type kid and appears to like to compete.

Jacob Profit SS / 2B / Houston County, GA / 2020

Profit is an undersized second baseman who knows how to win. He is never going to be a big power guy, and his arm limits him to the right side of the infield, but Profit knows how to put his speed to work for him and plays the small game very well. There is a limited ceiling when it comes to rankings, but his pure ability to get to his impact tool has given him an uptick as an impact player at HoCo and beyond.

Cameron Foster SS / Westminister, GA / 2020

Foster is a big kid at 6-foot-3 210-pounds.  Defensively he will probably move to a corner at the next level, but he has plenty of arm strength and hands to get the job done.  At the plate Foster will flash good pull side power when he gets his bat-head out.  Lots to like about Fosters frame and tools on the baseball field.
