trackman hitter of the week: 2022 C/ss michael quick

The Oshawa Legionaires program is always full of talent and 2022 Michael Quick is another example of that as he was a standout at our Oshawa Scout Day back in October of 2021. What he brings to the plate, among other things, is his ability to consistently drive the ball back up the middle with authority. Out of the 11 batted balls in his batting practice session, eight of them were line drives back up the middle with an average EV of 89.7 mph (max EV was 94.1).

To add on to that consistency was his ability to drive the ball anywhere in the zone, or even out of the zone, with the same kind of power. For example, a ball that was down and in off the plate he took right back up the middle with a LA of 13 and EV of 91 mph. He also possesses a line drive percentage of 72.7 which is tops in the country for 2022s.

We all know that LA and EV are not everything. You need to be able to make consistent and solid contact to have any success. With Michael Quick, he has all of the above and will be a fun follow this coming summer.
