Underclass Prospect Spotlight: 2013 RHP/IF Tyler Anderson (Lima Shawnee)

Tyler Anderson

Tyler Anderson, RHP/IF, Lima Shawnee, 2013

Anderson is a lanky, athletic prospect that likely projects as a pitcher at the next level. The right-hander has a solid, athletic frame. He uses a high 3/4 arm slot and quick, loose arm action. He generates an 82-84 mph fastball that should increase in time. His curveball, which needs additional development, sits between 65-68 mph. His slider sits at 71 mph. He shows good command of his changeup. He throws it near fastball arm speed. It sits at 75-77 mph and shows sink. In the field, he shows average footwork and glove work. His transfer tends to be long, but he shows carry on his throws, which registered a top velocity of 81 mph. At the plate, his swing can get long, but he makes consistent, hard contact. He registered a 7.47 60-yard dash.
