Updated Class of 2024 Player Rankings (August)

Thanks to a great spring and summer season, we had the opportunity to see numerous prospects and are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.

Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.

That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.

As the school year starts and with fall ball right around the corner, we will take a look at "What;s New at the Top”, "The Risers", "Showcase Standouts", and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What’s New At The Top

Caleb Bonemer SS / RHP / Okemos, MI / 2024

Report: Future Cavalier, Caleb Bonemer, rises to the top spot in the Mitten State after a stellar spring season for Okemos HS and a strong summer circuit performing at a high level. 6.6 runner with physical tools and bat speed. Bonemer showed consistency in his ability to string together competitive at bats and being a tough out against premier arms. Defensively displays athletic movement and a strong arm from the SS position.

Chase Van Ameyde RHP / 3B / Brother Rice, MI / 2024

Report: Van Ameyde made some tweaks to his delivery over the past 12 months and it sure has paid off for him as we head into the offseason. A low ¾ slot, near sub peppers the strike zone at 91-93 MPH while also producing a large 6-5 frame that will see continued growth over the fall/winter months. A sharp breaking ball with 2300 rpm at 80-81 mph.

Kael Gahan LHP / Lake Orion, MI / 2024

Report: 6-5 frame with whippy action & long delivery. Gahan has shown ability to run his fastball into the low 90s sitting mainly 88-89 with natural run on the fastball. A high spin fastball (2300 rpm) & 3/7 shape to the curveball.

The Risers

Isaac Sturgess OF / LHP / Powers Catholic, MI / 2024

Report: Coming off a solid spring helping lead the Powers Catholic Chargers to a state finals appearance. A well versed athlete with solid range in the outfield with a strong accurate arm. Solid bat speed with barrel whip through the zone covering multiple zones.

Owen Turner C / 3B / Birmingham Brother Rice, MI / 2024

Report: Reliable backstop for the Warriors of Birmingham Brother Rice has progressed well from spring to summer. Capping off a strong summer in the PBR National Championships with D Las Vegas. Features a quick release with ability to handle a talented staff.

Daniel Duley LHP / OF / Freeland, MI / 2024

Report: New Golden Grizzly commit continued to ascend this spring into the summer. Led the Freeland Falcons in IP, SO, Appearances and Saves. An athletic southpaw with ¾ arm slot sitting in the mid 80s up to 88 with the fastball. Look for continual improvement from Duley as he still has plenty left in tank setting up for stelar 2024 campaign.

Showcase Standouts

Evan Stojanovic RHP / SS / Birmingham Groves, MI / 2024

Report: Stojanovic had a solid performance through the summer after Top Prospect Games at Oestrike Stadium in June. Will run the fastball up to 91 with good pace on the mound and compact delivery and a quick arm. A top uncommitted arm in the state that coaches will want to keep a close follow on into fall and offseason.

Tylor Morehouse SS / RHP / Riverview Gabriel Richard, MI / 2024

Report: Another standout from TPG this past June from nearby Riverview. The talented two-way prospect moves well for the 6’2 frame at a 6.91 60 time with 93 exit velocity. Solid footwork from the left side. Lots of arm talent on the mound hitting 91 at TPG with much more room for development. Ball comes out easy with strong velocity at a ¾ arm slot.

Jack Sawdon RHP / 3B / Rochester, MI / 2024

Report: Jack keeps impressing each time we see him. A solid stature with a physical presence. 85-87 fastball with natural tail into the right handed batters. A sweeping slider that has produced swings and misses. Has shown the ability to throw the changeup consistently in the strikezone. Another good follow for the 2024 class.
