Starting our rankings week off with a small preview of five new faces that are entering into the Virginia/DC 2025 Rankings.

New Faces Part II

*Listed in alphabetical order.*

Trey Graydon RHP / 1B / Riverside, VA / 2025

Big physical 6-foot-4 right hander with some arm strength on the mound. Graydon was up to 88 this winter at Preseason All-State and showed 87 in game this spring. Higher slot and leverages the fastball to get some downhill plane. The breaking ball showed some depth in game this spring. XL frame with raw arm strength on the mound that will be an interesting follow this summer.

Hank Hardaway C / 1B / Gloucester, VA / 2025

Our first time seeing Hardaway was this winter at Preseason All-State. The first thing that stands out is the advanced physicality for the sophomore catcher. Loud barrels at the plate with strength through contact. Our staff saw him this spring and he had two of the only hits for Gloucester on the day. Rhythm in the hands and some bat speed through the zone. Was confident and showed some comfortability in the box while facing an upper 80's arm. Above average arm strength behind the plate with carry through the bag.

Nathan Phillips RHP / 1B / Lebanon , VA / 2025

Phillips is every bit of his listed 6-foot-2, 190-pound listed measurements. XL frame with normal effort and builds arm speed through release. Whippy three-quarter arm with arm speed on secondary offerings. The breaking ball is a hard downer and the changeup is firm at 79-81. There is more velo there and with the mass and arm speed this could end up being a big velo arm long term.

Ben Pulliam OF / SS / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

Pulliam has an athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with proportional strength throughout. You can tell he has been in the weight room the past year, as the body has really improved and added visible strength. Offense first profile with the ability to work gap to gap with some power potential. Big arm in right field and has the ability to be an impact bat in the corner outfield spots. Average runner and plays a tick quicker in game.

Carter Schuster LHP / 1B / Independence, VA / 2025

Our staff has seen Schuster a handful of times this spring. Low slot left hander that has taken on a bigger role as the season has progressed. Low 80's arm that can touch a few mid 80's when he needs. Has shown a solid feel for secondary and competes in the zone with confidence. Will need to continue to make strides in the velo department, but that low slot from a left hander gives something different for a staff and there is some present pitchability, as well as projection left in this arm.
