Welcome to the VA/DC Scoreboard. This year we will run our scoreboards on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We will always be sure to include scores and brief recaps of games involving Power 25 teams and will strive to get as many of the rest of the scores from the Commonwealth and the District as well.

No. 9 Battlefield 3, Paul VI Catholic 2
Battlefield wins on yet another walk-off, this time a sacrifice fly off the bat of Zach Agnos (East Carolina). Agnos was 1-2 with a walk and also threw a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out 8. Jaime Garrison also had a home run for Battlefield. Patrick Ashby was strong for Paul VI allowing 1 run in 4 innings while striking out 6.

No. 13 Mills Godwin 8, Matoaca 0
Godwin scored all 8 of their runs in the fourth inning, Bo Richmond went 2-2 in the inning with 3 RBIs, driving in the first and last runs of the night. Sam Landess (James Madison) threw a 4-hit shutout and struck out 14 with no walks allowed.

No. 21 Menchville 12, Denbigh 1
The game was tied headed to the fifth before Menchville exploded for 11 runs. Stephen Cook was 2-3 with a triple and 4 RBIs and Ahmad Goldson was 2-2 with a walk and 2 RBIs.

No. 25 Cape Henry 6, Norfolk Collegiate 0
Three Cape Henry pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts. Senior Aiden Kuhle (Roanoke) was 2-4 with an RBI and Josh Holland, Alex Gianascoli, and Kenneth Schaedal all went 2-3 as well in the win.

Sophomore Ethan Ott was 2-4 with an RBI and both Anthony Morton and James McGrady had 2 RBIs for the Gators. 

Somerset Academy (FL) 3, No. 15 Highland 0
The Hawks were held to four hits in the game and struck out 12 times. Ed Wagner allowed 3 runs on just 3 hits in four innings on the mound.

No. 16 Prince George 6, Dinwiddie 3
Buck Forbes (Charleston WV) struck out 10 in 6.1 innings of three-hit ball and Justin Starke (VMI) was 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs and Jacob Farrar (VMI) was 2-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Matthew Norwood was 3-4 for Dinwiddie.

No. 17 Hanover 11, Patrick Henry (Ashland) 0
The Hawks only managed 6 hits with Blake Doggett (Randolph-Macon) going 1-3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Four pitchers combined on the shutout with Cole Wallace (Randolph-Macon) allowing two hits and no walks in three innings.

Manchester 6, No. 19 Midlothian 2
Senior Zane Eggleston (Longwood) threw a complete game and struck out 6. Grayson Kracget was 3-4 with a double and 4 RBIs and Tyler Garner (Louisburg CC) was 2-3 with a walk. Camdton Furman (Randolph-Macon) was 2-2 with 2 doubles and a walk for Midlo.

Phillip Forbes V (James Madison) was 2-3 with 2 doubles and struck out 7 in 4 innings. Dawson Guzik was 2-3 with a double and 3 RBIs and Kody Abrisz was 2-3 with a triple and a walk.

Heritage (Leesburg) 4, No. 22 Riverside 1
Dylan Saale and Ben Nehring hit home runs and Saale was ultimately 3-4 and struck out 6 in 5 innings pitched to earn the win. John Heltebran was 2-4 with a double for the Rams.

No. 1 Benedictine 9, Woodberry Forest 2
Jay Woolfolk and Brett Cook both hit home runs and drove in 3 runs for Benedictine as Cook ultimately went 3-4 in the game.

No. 5 Potomac 19, Freedom (Woodbridge) 0
Potomac made it three straight no-hitters as Brody Mack (William & Mary) and Josue Cumba combined to strike out 12 in a perfect game.

Bishop McNamara (MD) 13, No. 6 Greenbrier Christian 3
Senior JT Inskeep (VMI) was 2-3 with a double for the Gators.

No. 8 Salem (Roanoke) 6, Blacksburg 5
Blacksburg's comeback came up just short as Hunter Tensen was able to hang on to the lead for the Spartans. Jordan Fetrow had a home run and Parker Stallard (Virginia Tech) was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Craig Weaver had a home run and 3 RBIs in a 2-4 game for Blacksburg.

No. 9 Battlefield 3, Hylton 1
Junior Peter Benavides was 3-4 with a double and an RBI and seniors Zach Agnos (East Carolina) and CJ Miles were both 2-4 with a double for the Bobcats. Sophomore Jackson Baird went 5 innings strong to earn the win. Hylton senior Nick Ericsson (VCU) was 3-3 in the game.

No. 11 Liberty Christian 13, Heritage (Lynchburg) 0
Four LCA pitchers combined on a perfect game, striking out eight batters in five innings. Bailey Reynolds was 2-2 with 3 RBIs and a double in the win.

No. 14 Lake Braddock 11, Robinson 5
Conor O'Grady-Walsh had a home run and Bobby Leitzel (Marymount) was 2-4 with a triple and 5 RBIs. Sophomore Michael Weidinger was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs and threw bounced back after a tough first to put up four strong innings on the mound. Max Henry and Warren Holzemer were both 2-4 with a double for Robinson.

No. 15 Highland 4, Sagemont (FL) 2
Blake Fisher went 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and striking out 6 to earn the win while also going 1-3 at the plate with a double. Blake Cuddington earned the save with a scoreless seventh and he and Eddie Gimbel each had two hits in the game.

Liberty (Bealeton) 5, No. 18 Fauquier 3
Colby Neal was 2-4 and threw six innings to earn the win. Bryce Hockman was 3-3 with a double and an RBI and Drew Leach was 2-2 with 3 RBIs for the Eagles.

No. 20 Jefferson Forest 10, EC Glass 0
A scoreless game through four, JF exploded for all of their runs in the top of the fifth. Bosiger had big blows at both ends of the inning, driving in 5 of the runs and Mattson also had 3 RBIs for the Cavaliers. Muller threw 4 innings of 1-hit ball in the win.

Patriot 10, No. 22 Riverside 9
Patriot jumped out to an 8-1 lead and hung on to win. Riley Eikhoff (Virginia), Conor Jersey, and Kyle VanDenBurg all had multiple RBIs for the Pioneers and Eikhoff struck out 8 in 4.2 innings, dominating early before getting chased by a banged-up but resilient Ram offense. Benson Farmery was 3-4 with 3 RBIs and Nick Connolly was 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI for Riverside.

Chantilly 3, No. 23 Madison 0
Senior Nick Zampiello threw a 2-hitter with 5 strikeouts as the Chargers won an early Concorde District game. Dylan Siesky (Lafayette) was 3-3 with two solo home runs for Chantilly.
