Welcome to the VA/DC Scoreboard. This year we will run our scoreboards on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We will always be sure to include scores and brief recaps of games involving Power 25 teams and will strive to get as many of the rest of the scores from the Commonwealth and the District as well.

The Cadets rallied for all six of their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Joe Bladel held them scoreless until then. James Triantos (North Carolina) had a 2-RBI double in the rally.

No. 4 Hanover 4, King George 3
Cole Wallace (Randolph-Macon) threw 5 innings of shutout ball and Eric Anderson struck out the side in the seventh to pick up the save. Brandon Taylor was 2-2 with a 2B and 2 RBIs and Jack Madrigan was 2-3 with a 2B

No. 5 Grafton 7, Poquoson 0
Mark Petko (Radford) struck out 11 in 6 innings of 1-hit ball to earn the win. Tyler Cotten had a home run in the win.

No. 14 Mills Godwin 10, No. 8 Cosby 5
Godwin rode a 6-run sixth inning to the comeback win. Noah Cornwell (James Madison) was 2-4 with a 2B and 3 RBIs and Mark Buisson was 3-4.

No. 22 Carlisle 5, Blue Ridge 0
Garrett Kangas and Nick Duncan combined on a 5-hit shutout, with Duncan striking out 5 in the last 2 innings. William Clark was 3-4 with a 2B.

No. 23 Stafford 7, Colonial Forge 4
The Indians rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to win a District game. Elijah Lambros had a 2B and 2 RBIs and Tucker Sullivan was 2-2 with 2 BBs and an RBI in the win.

Jamari Baylor (Louisburg CC) was 3-3 with a home run and Brett Allen also had a home run and 3 RBIs.

No. 4 Hanover 7, Atlee 0
Jack Goleski struck out 10 in 6 innings of 2-hit ball for the win while also going 2-3 with an RBI. Sam Lipscombe had a home run for the Hawks.

No. 5 Grafton 7, Jamestown 0
Andrew Shartzer (Paul D Camp CC) threw a 2-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and Zach Wojnarowski (VMI) was 2-3 with a 2B, home run, and 3 RBIs.

No. 8 Cosby 11, George Wythe (Richmond) 0
Brock Burch struck out 11 in 5 innings of 1-hit ball while tossing a shutout.

Thomas Dale 12, No. 9 Prince George 2
Karson Jennings (Mary Washington) threw a 5 inning complete game in the win. Cody Craig, Chris Fredette, and Dean Runyon were each 2-3 with Runyon driving in 3 runs.

Hampton 7, No. 10 Menchville 6
The Crabbers remain undefeated and swept Menchville this week, opening up a 3 game lead in the District. Hampton scored 6 runs in the top of the sixth to come back after giving up all 6 Monarch runs in the bottom of the fifth. The big blow in that rally was a Trey Morgan (VMI) grand slam, Morgan finished 2-3 with a walk in the game. 

No. 12 Hickory 19, Indian River 3
Scott Crosson had 3 hits and 4 RBIs and Zach Dzarnowski also had 3 hits and picked up 5 RBIs in the win.

No. 16 Greenbrier Christian 7, Isle of Wight 3
Austin Younce had a home run and 2 RBIs and Nic Britt (William & Mary) was 3-5 with a 2B and 3 RBIs. James McGrady struck out 6 and allowed just 1 run to pick up the win. 

No. 19 Potomac 10, Forest Park 6
Ben Thomas was 3-4 with a 2B and 2 RBIs and both Cody Busack and Braden Mack had multi-hit games with 2 RBIs.

No. 24 Brentsville 8, Liberty (Bealeton) 7
Justin Hairfield delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth for the Tigers as he went 3-5 with 2 RBIs in the win. Vince DiMauro and Jake DeLisi (King) each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs as well for Brentsville. Logan Rodney was 2-3 with 3 RBIs and a 3B for Liberty.

Langley 6, No. 25 Yorktown 3
The Saxons scored 5 in the top of the first and then held on to win. Will Bean had the big blow with a grand slam in the rally. Nathan Knowles struck out 9 in 4 scoreless innings of relief for Yorktown.

Friday 4/26

No. 11 Halifax County 7, Franklin County 4
The Comets rallied from a 4-0 deficit to force extra innings and then won it in the ninth. Will Turner struck out 11 in 5 innings to start the game for the Eagles, but Comets senior Drew Harlow (Radford) closed the game with five innings of 1-hit shutout ball and 10 strikeouts of his own to help fuel the comeback. Shaun Perkins was 2-5 with 3 RBIs and Dylan Clark and Troy Ferrell each had 2 RBIs. 

No. 15 Deep Run 10, Glen Allen 9
Drew Larsen delivered a walk-off winner in the eighth inning and Eli Weisner (Furman) was 3-3 with # RBIs and finished a home run short of the cycle.
