While much of Virginia and DC has not begun competition yet this spring, there are teams in action and some ranked teams have squared off early in the season. Throughout the season, we will post final scores from throughout our coverage area, with short highlights of teams that are currently in Our Rankings

No. 2 Highland 10, Trinity Christian 0
2022 RHP Jackson Gimbel (James Madison) struck out 8 in 3 perfect innings to open the game while 2022 OF George Rizzo (George Washington) led a balanced offensive attack from the leadoff spot, going 2-3 with a 2B, BB, and an RBI.

Saturday, March 20

No. 2 Highland 10, Collegiate 1
A 6-run fifth broke open a tight game for the Hawks, Tyler Kaltreider (VMI) went 5.1 innings to earn the win, striking out 8 and allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk. Eric Wilson (Charleston Southern) and Blake Cuddington (Virginia Wesleyan) were both 3-4 with a 2B for Highland.

No. 6 St. Christopher's 4, No. 2 Highland 0
2021 Harrison Coble (Pittsburgh) went the distance for the Saints, tossing a 4-hitter while striking out 5. Curtis Hale was 2-2 with 3 RBIs and a 2B and Griffin O'Ferrall (Virginia) had a 2B and 2 BBs with a SB. Ed Wagner (George Washington) struck 9 and was 2-2 in the loss. 

Atlantic Shores 3, No. 7 Benedictine 2
Junior Porter Patrick picked up the win, striking out 9 in 5 innings while allowing just 1 hit for the Seahawks. Diego Doran was 1-3 with 2 RBIs in the win.
