Big 12

Bloomington (8-7; 1-0) crushed Champaign Central 16-2 and 21-0 in the Big 12 opener for both schools. Purple Raider SS Tyler Dicken had three hits and four RBI to lead Bloomington past Champaign Central in the first game. Purple Raider junior 2B Nick Weise chipped in with four hits and three RBI

 

In the nonconference nightcap, Dicken had a 4-for-4 game with four more RBI.

Sophomore Jayden Thompson fired a five-inning no-hitter at the Maroons. Junior Jared Ogg had three hits and four ribbies in the nightcap.

 

Catholic League

No. 7 St. Rita (14-1; 3-0 Blue) blasted St. Joseph 11-1 at home on Saturday. Mustang junior LHP Scott Thomas (5-0) fired a four-hitter with seven strikeouts. The Mustangs went deep four times, led by two blasts and four RBI by sophomore Connor McLain. Mustang Air force recruit C Brian Sicher homered and drove in two and junior Ricky Faron homered and drove home two Mustang runs.

 

No. 13 St. Laurence (13-2; 4-0 Blue) slammed Gordon Tech 10-0 in Burbank behind Viking 6-foot-5 junior Declan McCarron (2-0), who no-hit the Rams, with nine strikeouts.

 

S. Illinois River-River Ohio

No. 15 Harrisburg (10-3; 3-0) slammed Massac County 11-1 in five innings behind Bulldog sophomore Ryne Roper. Roper allowed a run and two hits in 4 2/3 innings of work to improve to 4-0 on the mound. With his bat, the super-soph doubled and homered and drove in four ?Dog runs.

 

No. 14 Waterloo (14-0) slipped Vianney (Mo.) 7-6 at GCS Park in Sauget, Illinois.

 

Nonconference

Minooka (10-6) white-washed Lockport 10-0 in Minooka, behind Indian 3B Dakota Brown, who had two his and three RBI. Junior LHP Josh Jimenez blanked the Porters to improve to 4-2 on the season.
