""Springfield, MO-Parkview HS outlasted Glendale HS for a 9-8 victory at Viking Field on Tuesday afternoon, led by sophomore 1B Andrew Kendrick (right) and his five RBIs.

Glendale took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after a Skyler ""Ladd (left) solo home run to deep right center field and a Grant Pivac sacrifice fly, scoring starting pitcher Trey Watson. Glendale extended their lead to 3-0 in the second inning with an RBI double off the bat of Elliott Carlew, scoring Kendon Brown who reached base on a single.

Parkview tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning, scoring two runs on a Landon Ruff double, who came around to score on an error by Glendale SS Brown.

Vikings leadoff hitter Cameron Craig?s bunt single scored Wyatt Gunn, followed by Andrew Kendrick?s two RBI bloop single in the bottom of the fourth frame extended Parkview?s lead to 6-3. ?I was looking fastball on the first pitch,? said Kendrick of the two RBI single. ?He threw me a curve ball on the first pitch and a fast ball on the second pitch, made an adjustment was able to hit the ball to right field.?

Not to be outdone, Glendale's Pivac blasted a three run home run with two outs in the fifth to left center, knotting the game at 6-6. Pivac ended the day with five RBIs.

The big hit of the game came once again off the bat of Kendrick, a three run homerun to put Parkview up 9-6. ?The pitcher left a curveball hanging, and I took advantage of it,? said Kendrick of what proved to be the game winning hit. Kendrick was two for four on the day with five RBIs and one run scored to lead the Parkview offense.

Glendale scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning with two outs to make the game close, and left the tying run on base in the loss.

?We had some guys step up today in spots where we need them to today, specifically in the four hole where we got five RBIs out of Andrew Kendrick. That was big today,? said Parkview head coach John Thompson on the offensive performance of Parkview. ?Defensively, we made some mistakes, but I thought they were mistakes effort mistakes. I felt pretty good about the intensity we put out for the whole game.?

In other action, Stockton defeated Strafford 8-2. Robbie Ewing picked up the win throwing a complete game, and helped himself by going four for four with a double and triple. Kevin Martin pitched in going two for three with two doubles.
